Buyer is collecting tonight but has just asked if i'll accept £15 less than offered

I pulled the listing (yes I know naughty) as buyer offered a very good price and could collect today. Have just had a message though asking if I'll take fifteen pounds less than they originally offered as they are travelling over and hour to pick it up.

I guess that's my comeuppance for trying to avoid ebay fees.

Anyhoo do I tell them no chance and relist it or go with their offer. I have no idea if i'll get more or less than they are offering but I did have quite a few watchers.

I was in mind to start an ebay business but so far this week I've had one not paying and one insisting on paypal for a cash on collection item only and now this cheeky sod. ho hum.

They are taking advantage of your fee avoidance. I would re list properly.

no, by doing so, they're breaking the ebay rules anyway.

but they should have paid through ebay, not in cash, so you're breaking them too.

I know nickelbabe I guess I set myself up for this problem. I still think it's bad form on their part to make an offer and then wait til I've pulled the listing to try and lower the price.

if a buyer collects you should never accept paypal, you are opening yourself up to fraudulent buyers taking your goods, then pretending not to receive an item and clawing back all of their money - so always take cash for collection items.

Without online proof of delivery, ie recorded signature, you would not have a leg to stand on with an item not received claim with paypal.

I always wait until the buyer has collected the item I've cancelled the listing for. That way, if they change their mind for some reason, I don't have to relist. Then I just cancel the listing afterwards.

Well they turned up, paid the full price originally offered and left! Still I know better for the future.

Am concerned about my buyer who is collecting tomorrow but will ony use paypal. If I refund her and insist on cash payment or nothing I assume she can give me negative feedback and report me to ebay?

she may give neg but what could she report you for - refund her and tell her cash on collection or nothing - one strike from ebay won't make you lose your account. you would be more upset losing your item and the money.

If she gives you a neg just reply with non paying bidder - it is only a red dot on a website.

make sure what goes through? You can just mark payment received once buyer has collected and paid you with cash.

Have you refunded the paypal payment?

Never allow paypal for collection in person.

Cash only.

They can collect, claim you weren't in, and reclaim.

Don't forget to count the money in front of the person. I had someone try to short me $50 on a collection-only item.
