I sold a pair of trousers on a buy it now option. Buyer has paid for the item but not the postage and packing. It seems they selected the option for free local pick up and as they are not local I have contacted them. They said the believed that the postage was free but after refering them back to the original listing they have agreed to pay. They are asking me to send them a new invoice for the postage and packing only. How do I do this? Thanks.

Can you not just do this via "contact the buyer". I never quite understand the need for a formal invoice, unless they are buying something for a business and want to offset the cost against tax, or whatever.

They are asking me to send an invoice or to tell them how to send the extra money to my account. How do they do this?

Is it being paid by paypal? If so, they just go to their paypal account, click on make a payment, enter the amount owed, then enter your paypal address.

Don't forget, you will incur more paypal fees. Will your p&p cover that? I think it should since you will be incurring 2 sets of fees since they are paying you twice.

refund their original payment and then send another invoice. this way you only get one set of paypal fees

I agree with sixlostmonkeys. I've had a similar thing before. Just refund their money from your PayPal account and then send a new invoice in eBay for the total amount. IT'll be easier if there's an issue with the item and you don't pay the extra 20p PayPal charge.

and change your settings so buyers can't amend invoices in future
