I dont really understand how paypal works...so... i've just made a payment on ebay, via paypal of £108. Will i incur any paypal charges for this? If so, how much?

no the recipient pays paypal fees, it is automatically deducted at source, so the balance in their account will be the amount minus the fees.

The sender or buyer never pays paypal fees.

some ebay sellers do try to charge for paypal, but this was stopped years ago, and any seller who tries to charge should be reported.
