Help - overseas buyer

hi

My listings on eBay have just finished.

They all stated will post to uk only. However, someone in mainland Europe has bought something and sent email asking for postage.

What do I do?

Postage by airsure plus packing costs will be £20.

Do I email the costs or just say only uk buyers and re list?

Never had this before.

if that is what it costs then simply tell them the cost, invoice them, let them pay and then post. Is it an heavy item?

Posting overseas is really no different to posting within the UK and as you have discovered there are plenty of ebayers outside the UK. If you really don't want non-UK buyers then you need to set your preferences to block bids from countries you don't post to for future listings,

Have you looked at International Signed For rather than Airsure - it's usually quite a lot cheaper.

I sell Worldwide and have had fewer issues with overseas buyers than with UK ones, having said that I've not have many items not delivered wherever they go to.

My experience of overseas buyers is that they are happy to pay the postage costs whatever they may be.
I would contact your buyer and give them postage cost options that you are happy to send via.
If they don't want to pay the costs then open a mutual cancellation case stating the reason.
Communicate via Ebay messages so you can refer to the contact and Ebay can see it if you do open a case.
Do not re-list before sorting it out with your buyer as they could open a non-performing seller case.

In future if you are sure you do not want to sell items to overseas buyers then do make sure you have your preferences set to UK only as sixlost monkeys says.
