Buyers making offers outside of Ebay

Hi,

I've just listed my second batch of baby bits on Ebay. I've had a couple of people request I finish the items early and 1 that has made an offer through Ebay messages once the item had finished.

My question is if I agree to any of these will Ebay catch on as the message are on my account or I am better of re-listing with buy it now prices and do it all legitimately.

Any advice would be great. Thanks

Don't do it -there are usually reasons why people bypass ebay rules. Stay clear and do it legitimately.

just change or relist to buy it now prices - you will be banned from ebay otherwise. Not worth the hassle. Plus you as a seller lose all protection, and the buyers lose all buyers protection for dealing outside ebay.

Absolutely, don't enter into discussion. As long as there are no bids on your item, you can add a BIN option.

Someone tried this with me, offered to buy my item for £30, I politely declined and said that as there was already a bid on for £9.99, I could not add BIN as an option.

They did bid, and ended up buying the item for £33 + p&p. They were clearly desperate for the item!

Great thank you all. I'd totally forgotten about BIN. I'll add some on now.

Thanks again
