I've been a member of Ebay for 9 years, with 234 100% feedback, and whilst I don't sell a huge amount of things, every couple of months I end up listing 20 or so items after a clear out. I've never had this request before.
Uncomfortable with ebay/paypal having my bank details - they've already got my credit card so WTF do they need more?!
Called Ebay "helpdesk/customer service/whatever" and had a very unhelpful lady tell me that if I've been asked to input those details then I had to do it, and if I didn't then I wouldn't be able to sell, so I said "What, if I don't put my details in I can't sell ever again? and she said "that's right".
. Ridiculous
. So I said, well that's a shame, I enjoy using ebay but I guess I won't be able to anymore in that case". I explained that I was uncomfortable hooking up my bank account due to previous fraudulent activity on my Paypal account and she just said "well I'll send you details on how to close your account".

Anyone else had a similar issue? Any idea why it's come up?
