if so i think paypal have got a bloody cheek, and it's wrong. The things i have sold make for peanuts have made even less now.

I never used to get charged, i am bloody sure of it. If this topic has been covered before apologies.

Do you mean you have been charged extra by paypal after they took the normal fees?

I have only verified my bank account with paypal - when that happened they made two tiny deposits into my account (in pennies) and I had to say how much they had been for. Didn't make any difference to the paypal fees I pay when I sell something.

I have sold a few things over the past days, and have been charged selling fees, which i swear i didn't have to before. Looking into it there seems to be something about if a payment comes from a credit card you get charged more.

I havent sold on ebay for a couple of years but never thought i had paid this much %. I only remember paying my ebay fees.

For the amount it's cost to list and sell i may not bother anymore Sad

Yes paypal are robbing bastards!

If something goes for 99p I end up with 20p after Ebay and Paypal charges.

Not on Angry

TragicallyHip · 15/05/2011 13:43

I think it is something like 25p per transaction plus a %

piratecat · 15/05/2011 13:47

well well well, i had no idea. Now, i am the sort of person who KNOWS these things, who will check out an item in several shops before making sure i have the best deal!!

As i havent sold on there for ages, i didn't realise,or hadn't thought to look it up.

has it always been the same then?

Not sure, I have only been selling things for a few months.

It seriously takes the piss!

PayPal fees on lower price items are 3.4% plus 0.20p of the amount that is sent to you by the bidder (inc. the P&P)!

So if you sell something for 99p plus £2.00 P&P you'll pay 30p in PayPal fees on top of the ebay seller fees. It's been that way for quite a while too - for at least 18 months.
