Do you post internationally? Should I?

Hi everyone

Selling my first ever item on Ebay and I have had a question asking if I will post to Malta. Are there any risks/things I should consider about posting overseas. Is it easier to just say UK only?

My DP has sent stuff abroad a few times and always had problems. It's the tracking that's the issue and if it goes missing you can't trace it and you tend to end up having to refund the money to the buyer.

That's only our experience and others have better experiences.

I don't bother with international postage at all. Too much hassle.

I don't either - far too much hassle

We do. Never had a problem, have to go to Post Office anyway and you just add a bit extra on the charges.

I sell around the world - lots more customers worldwide than just in the UK :)

It's no different to posting within the UK. You use the same means and common sense to cover yourself as you would in the UK. Eg. If a parcel goes missing in the UK and you have no tracking number you simply refund and claim from RM. The same applies to non UK post. If you use a signed for service for either UK or non UK then you just follow the tracking prodecure to either prove it has been delivered or to determine whether you need to refund and then claim from RM.
Use the postal service that suits and state upfront on the listing (in the little boxes) what the cost is; airmail/airsure etc. Worldwide buyers then know what the cost is and can bid. More bidders = more pennies :)
