I've become obsessed....!

I am stalking the ebay items I'm selling like a fourteen year old with her first crush!

I can't stop checking my page and seeing how many watchers I have and getting ridiculously excited when someone bids...

I am now going round the house looking for things to ebay - I think I may have become a bit over excited by this. It has become an obsession.

Now, how much do you think I'll get for a dh who, despite being second hand, is in excellent working order Grin

Only an hour to go... My life is going to be so empty once this is over... Will have to go back to lurking on threads on here instead Grin

Dp and I are a bit like that at the moment. He's selling a turntable and watch and they're making £150 so far with 3 days to go!! I'm just selling dvds etc.. I'm going to put dss ikea toy storage on soon though, it sold for over £40 so anything like that'll go towards new storage for them. It's trofast so a bit young looking for my boys now. I've got some clothing to put on too, some I bought BNWT from charity shops.
Good luck pirateparty Smile

I have the opposite problem - I just cannot get myself organised to put stuff on there - the ebay pile grows and grows but I just cannot get my arse in gear

Curiousmama · 08/05/2011 15:34

Are any of your pile dvds etc.. pinky? Or is it clothing? Ikwym about being arsed to take picst etc.. For dvds and suchlike they have stock photos on there if you put in the title or EAN number.

pirateparty · 08/05/2011 16:42

Woo hoo - I made £30 which is lots of nappies or a maybe a new changing bag... or maybe something to pamper myself!

Right - what else to ebay...

PS I make my dh take and upload the photos because actually that is a real pain! Very interesting re the stock photos for dvds though - thanks curiousmama - good tip. I usually sell dvds on amazon though.

Do you get a better deal on Amazon? I've just listed a load of dvds on ebay.

TheMonster · 08/05/2011 16:57

Have you tried music magpie for selling dvds?

pirateparty · 08/05/2011 18:56

I'm not sure because I've never tried to sell any dvds on ebay. They often don't sell on amazon, but you have definite price and I just put it as 1 pence lower than the lowest listed.

I have just had a quick look between amazon and ebay dvd prices and I think that if you put it on amazon you get a similar price to ebay but you pays your money you takes your chances with ebay! You might not get much at all, but you will usually well at least sell it, but not necessarily on Amazon.

I do this a lot with books, especially new ones I have bought - I often get 80% of the price of a new book though if it's only just come back. I quite often buy a book I've been waiting for in hardback when it comes out. I'm quite a quick reader, so I just remove the dust jacket whilst I'm reading it so it remains in pristine condition, read it in a few days and then put it back on as 'read once but good as new' and have read it for a few pounds!

Good idea about the dust jacket. Dp's just finished Limitless said I'll sell that too. Nothing's safe Wink

TragicallyHip · 08/05/2011 21:01

It's so addictive! I spent a few hours yesterday taking pictures and putting up 40 items!!

Vix1980 · 08/05/2011 21:04

H ha that just made me laugh, when i have stuff on ebay my other hald thinks im having a secret affair, checking my laptop constantly to see how much ive made, i'll check it in the morning, go of do the housework and come back and say lets see how much ive made whilst i was doing the dishes today! usually hardly anything but still makes me feel good knowing i can soon go shopping for something new

Curiousmama · 08/05/2011 21:20

Shock Just listed limitless on Amazon for £3 and they take £1.63 off me. Hope it sell?

Can totally relate to waiting for sales on ebay so I can buy stuff. It's my paypal account that it all goes into Wink

CointreauVersial · 08/05/2011 21:27

Pinky, I'm the same. Loft is bursting at the seams with stuff to sell, but listing clothes is a PITA.

Polkadott · 19/05/2011 16:09

Haha, I caught the ebay bug last year when trying to save up for a new computer. I made around £400 seeling all our old tat and junk, now I need to make some dosh cos we're a bit shot and have nowt to sell.

Off to carboots I think!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 20/05/2011 08:01

Yep I've got a load of items up for sale as well!
22 altogether, 4 will definitely sell and I am hoping I will get some more sales as there are still 11 hours left to go :)

The ones that don't sell I'll stick back on tomorrow on the free listing day.

Just one minor gripe, selling a suit which is clearly marked as "petite" and named the shop I bought it from, and one watcher keeps sending me emails asking me to get a tape measure and give her the inside leg, arm and bust measurements!

I have very politely told her no. I described myself and how it used to fit me and that will have to do. If she doesn't want to chance it, then don't fecking bid! I already have a bid on the item anyway from someone else.

The thing is I do buy quite a lot of clothes from ebay - virtually all of my maternity wear is from Ebay, and I have won some items that turned out to be unsuitable and didn't fit, all I do is put them back on ebay to sell and chalk it up to experience! I mean ffs, I'm only paying a few quid for these items. And I don't really trust the measurements anyway!

I don't want to give her any measurements in case she then bids and wins and then complains that the suit doesn't fit and complains to ebay!

Vix1980 · 20/05/2011 08:07

I know what you mean i had a lady keep asking me for the circumference of a sleeve on a shirt i was selling, it was only 99p from french connection, just take a chance!! luckily she didnt win it and i didnt have endless conversations about her huge arms not being able to fit into it!
