I sell quite a bit each week on ebay and just had an email from paypal saying from tomorrow my payments from buyers will be held for 21 days until they can confirm it has been sent or the buyer leaved feedback? anyone know why this is, i have good scores, 2 disputes in a year. ive been on there for around a year and had this happen as a new seller but then they stopped doin it, can they just decide to hold my money whenever they feel like?

I did make quite a bit of money this week though so thinking thats backfired for me now!

I had this when I have not sold something for a few months and then went on to list and sell some designer stuff, it's all new tougher security etc when there is new, more volume, laxed sellers returning, bigger or smaller transactions etc eg: anything slightly different on an account, normally as soon as the buyer get the stuff and leaves positive feedback the money gets released, normally quicker than 21 days. After 4 good rated transaction in a couple of weeks the hold was lifted and normal service resumed. So you are not being picked on, it happens to many, just more secutiry. Just think of all that lovely money piling up!

Oh and do send reminders to your buyers to leave feedback as they quite often forget

God something so silly as daring to have a week off and now there holding my money!! only really worried as i put a deposit down on a table and was planning on paying it off with my ebay money. Im glad it does get lifted though, ill just go back to the way i used to then listing every week - thanks for that though x

This is happening to me too. I am a seller and suddenly two random payments are being held for no reason I can see. I have just returned from holiday prior to which I ended all listings till my account was empty and then listed loads of stuff a week later so maybe the explantion above is the reason why. Thanks for that!

Its ridiculous isnt it, like were tied to ebay in some sinister way and if we dare take time off were penalised, wish there was somewere else like ebay to sell sometimes!

I think this has happened to me recently although in my case the buyer left feedback weeks ago & still says she has not got a dispute although that's what it looks like when I go to Paypal Resolution Centre. I have sent tracking info to Paypal a week ago & still they have not released it. Blooming cheek!
