Meh I hate being chased for feedback!

Just wanted to whinge - for some reason this really winds me up. I tend to wait and do a mass-feedback leaving session every few weeks, which sometimes means it can be a week or so (or hmm okay a bit longer sometimes Blush) before I get round to leaving feedback for someone.

Just got a message saying "Please leave feedback." and nowt else. Could they not at least have said "Thanks for your recent purchase, I hope you liked your item and if you did please could you leave feedback and I'll do the same for you" or something like that? Also think that sellers should leave feedback first since as long as you've paid you can't really misbehave as a buyer.

Now childishly want to wait another couple of days ... Meh!

I am waiting for 4 buyers to leave me feedback, one of these was a high value item dating back to the start of March. I've left feedback for them first in some cases and I've done the "Thank you for your purchase etc" and even refunded some postage as one of the items fitted through the large letter slot. Still no feedback. It is annoying when you hear nothing from the buyer after putting so much effort in listing, packaging, notifying buyer of despatch etc.

I disagree with the sellers having to leave feedback first. Why should they? Of course buyers can misbehave. Buyers can claim that they haven't received item, the item was not authentic or not as described etc so sellers will inevitably have to deal with it.

Leaving feedback doesn't take long. Just a "Thank you, great item" would do.

I agree with boogiewoogie. It really annoys me when as a seller I've put a lot of time and effort into washing and ironing clothes, bought packaging, wrapped it and gone to the post office and then not even get a "thank you". Not that hard is it?! I nearly always leave feedback the same day I receive things.

LunaticIsOnTheGrass · 20/04/2011 13:21

I had an email from a seller saying "feedback ta" once & nothing else. Hmm

Vix1980 · 20/04/2011 14:41

sorry couldnt help butting in but i agree with you I recieved this the other day...

Hi, this is to let you know that I have left a POSITIVE feedback for you over this transaction. Please find time to leave yours too.

I tend to do mine also in bulk, i work full time do ebay as a spare time thing to earn a bit extra so dont sit on it all day every day waiting to leave feedback, wouldnt mind but he only left his on sunday just gone! x

This annoys me too! The reward for listing and selling is surely the money you make? I feel badgered sometimes because like Op I leave feedback in bulk.

OneBadAsp · 30/04/2011 13:47

i give people a couple of weeks before i start wondering, but i don't think i've ever chased anyone up over it.

i just get bloody annoyed when a seller refuses to leave feedback until the buyer does. why? feel like my feedback is being held for ransom!

Tortoise · 30/04/2011 14:24

I do the same when I remember I need to leave feedback.

Disagree with sellers leaving feedback 1st though. Buyers feedback let's me know the item has arrived and that no probs with it. Then I can leave my feedback.

sixlostmonkeys · 30/04/2011 16:51

I agree with Tortoise - feedback should be left at the end of a transaction, and only when a seller knows that the item has arrived and all is well can it be considered to be the end of a transaction.

AllGoodNamesGone · 30/04/2011 23:49

Now that sellers can only leave positive or nothing, I leave something as soon as the thing is in the post like "Thanks for your fast payment, item posted today" which gives me the option of a follow up comment if the buyer turns out to be a pita!
