question about Paypal on another site not ebay

Sorry if this is not the best place to post, I posted in Chat but it has got lost under the volume of threads!

I am selling some cloth nappies on another site and have been contacted by an international buyer (within EU) but I am not sure if or how I can protect myself if there is a dispute over the item arriving? Does anyone know Paypal rules, if I send international with signature which is tracked in the UK but not afterwards what would happen if the buyer says they didn't receive since Royal Mail says on their website that I wouldn't be able to see the signature.

The nappies themselves are not worth that much but are heavy so postage wouldn't be cheap.

My other question is about payment in another currency, would I end up with a balance in euros or would they automatically convert to pounds? Would I tell the buyer a price in sterling and Paypal would convert it for them into euros? How exactly does it work?

By the way, thanks to everyone for their earlier suggestions to a new ebay seller, my first auction is finishing in 3 days.

You would have to send them online trackable to protect yourself from buyer stating item not received - I am guessing this will cost a fair amount.

Personally I would ask for bank transfer and not paypal, but I don't know about conversion rates with bank transfer - I presume your bank could charge for that?
