Hi,

My Quinny travel system sold on Ebay last night. I only had 1 bid which was from someone listed in Portugal despite the item listed as collection only. I've emailed them asking when they'd like to collect and had a response saying 'I wonder how much it would cost to send to make it pay' to which I responded 'As per my advert the item is collection only please advise when you plan to collect' knowing full well they won't. So question is, after all that, what do I need to do now. Shall I request I cancellation or leave it up to the buyer?

Thanks

Id request a cancellation from them stating the fact its collection only and they live in portugal wth hardly a decent grasp of the english language! otherwise if you leave it you will be charged the cost of listing from ebay plus a percentage of the price you sold it for.

if you re-list it you can click the boxes for where you want it sold in, so youd click just the uk not worldwide etc, also when your re-listing make sure your post code is on the listing so when people search by distance they get your listing coming up. I usually search by distance for large things and miss out on lots as people havent included there post code, good luck xx

How frustrating. Have they paid via Paypal?

neverright · 11/04/2011 14:38

No they haven't paid. I'm happy to relist it I just want to get it back in today but need them to get back to me first. I should have cancelled their bid before it ended but as I was an Ebay virgin I din;t know it was possible to do it.

On another item I've over charged them postage by 75p I feel I should refund it. What do you think?

I wouldn't refund the 75p.

tyzer2001 · 11/04/2011 17:08

I would cancel the transaction as they have no intention of honouring your original conditions.

As for the 75p - remember you're entitled to charge for your packing and handling charge as well so 75p isn't the end of the world IMO.

Have looked on the help section but it isn't clear. If I cancel the transaction will I still get charged from Ebay?

Thanks with your advice about the postage just trying to do everything by the book.

Ah just found the section I need which states they have to agree to the cancelling. Don't think I'll trust them to do that.

Hi, they may agree to it, if you leave it (think its around 4 days after them winning) you can open an unpaid item case, they will definatly not pay as theyd also be paying there air fare to come and pick it up so will prob close the case that way for you instead. either way though when you cancel a transacton or close a cae, you get your fees refunded from ebay straight away, so your not left out of pocket, good luck x
