Am going to try selling some unused stuff on ebay (to take advantage of free listing this weekend). Please can you tell me your mistakes so that I can learn from them & not make them myself & give me some tips on selling etc
I have bought a few bits & bobs but never sold anything...quite excited at the prospect...TIA

Don't make any spelling mistakes in your listing.

I buy really cheap things off ebay by searching for things with the wrong spellings, as not as many people find them and therefore they go for far far less Grin

When looking for a new chest of drawers, I searched for 'chest of draws' as well and found three listed, with no bids.

Don't underestimate you P&P costs either, or try to make more money this way, find out exactly what it will cost you to package up and post the item, and charge this. No more, no less.

start and finish on sunday evenings (more people online); try and use popular search terms in the title of the listing; good photos - close ups if possible; be honest about any imperfections; most stuff finds its market value on eBay so for good stuff have the courage to start the price low which will encourage lots of watchers and a few early low bids - don't be disheartened if you don't then get any bids until near the auction end. If your ratio if watchers to bidders is high you will almost certainly get last minute bids and the price will be driven up. Good luck!

I've sold a broken nintendo ds. When my ds liked various programs eg Lazy town , Balamory (a few years ago) she's have various themed items which I sold as bundles. ELC toys sell really well (she's too old for them now). I've been selling her old clothes in bundles as I find they sell better.

Start everything at 99p - not everyone agrees with this though.
