I received a broken item last week, via parcelforce, and emailed the seller to say I had refused delivery due to damage and Parcelforce were returning it to him.

He said he would put in a claim to parcelforce. I asked him to refund when he got it back, as PF can take weeks to refund and might not pay out.

He went quiet and I just checked the tracking, which says it was attempted to deliver to day but the parcel was refused by the seller.

I'm not sure what he is playing at. So I tried to open a dispute, but though I was logged into paypal, a big box came up saying resolve this through ebay. So I clicked on that in another tab as I assumed I could do both. Then I tried to do it through paypal as a back up, but it won't let me as ebay case is already open.

I'm really nervous. I've dealt with paypal before but I'm not sure I trust ebay to get it right, also the whole thing is really confusing and easy to click on the wrong button, I'm scared I will muck it up or close the case or something, cos it's hard to understand.

Now got to wait 10 days for the seller to respond and even if he does, I can't escalate till day 10. I need the money back now, well I'll just have to wait, but it all feels like a big mess.
Has anyone any experience of ebay disputes since they changed the format last year? I've no idea how successful they are at finding in the buyer's favour when it's totally obvious the seller is to blame.

thanks for any reassurance.

Do you reckon the seller refused it because he thought it'd come back to me, and he wouldn't have to refund?

Or maybe just told them to get rid of it as he doesn't want it? Very strange behaviour.

I'd at least have kept the chopping board if I were him and sold that on separately. (it was a sink)Grin
