Oh! I know what you mean. I bought dd a stunning monsoon dress for £12 for her to wear for a wedding. While we were at the wedding a lady came up to us (not with the wedding party) and said "I just wanted to say how beautiful your dd looks () and what a gorgeous dress" - I just managed to stop myself punching the air and shouting "ebay, twelve quid!"
