message from top bidder?

I'm pretty new to ebay but have sold a few bits and bobs without any problems - but I have a coffee maker on at the moment, lots of watchers, lots of bids, too - but have just had a message from the top bidder just saying 'I DO NOT WANT THIS ITEM'.

Now what do I do?

Email them back telling them to withdraw their bid, in line with ebay rules and regs. If they can't do that, then they'll just have to hope someone outbids them otherwise they'll be paying for it.

I hope they like coffee.

I'd be so tempted to reply 'SHOULD'T HAVE BLOODY BID THEN SHOULD YOU'.

you can also remove their bid and block them.

If it is very late in the process they cant remove their own bid so you have to do it for them I seem to recall. That was about a year ago I had that happen tho

There's over a day to go - I'm a bit annoyed really as other bidders may have been put off and there's not a lot of time left to attract new ones - but nothing I can do, I suppose. The price has gone down so I assume this idiot person has now removed the bid. How do I block someone?

it is extremely easy to withdraw a bid unless it has about 12 hrs to go. They should know this!

Hmm...you do have to wonder. DH says he actually removed the bid as this person hadn't removed it from her end - and checking her out, she's been a member since 2004, but only ever bought 5 items. And it looks like the second bidder is going to get a great bargain!
