LYING BUYER!

sorry Ladies but am fuming
just had my first negative feedback in 5 years and 300 sales,

buyer bought 2 garments - one new with tags - one used. Sent out Weds.
Today I get feedback (after no other communication from her) saying the items were covered in hair (Total lie) and smelt of stale perfume (One never been worn so no way on earth - and one used so if she doesn't like my Jo Malone what can I do about that??)
Both total total lies.

BUT - she then put "nice items" and is keeping them.
No request for a refund or return - both of which would have been possible.

Just don't get why - if she's so dissapointed - she wouldnt get in touch and give me a chance. Or why, if they're like she says she would want to keep them??

And all I can do is leave her POSITIVE feedback !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Silly I know but this has really upset me...

Please soothe .....Sad

Email her, offer refund. Surely eBay will remove feedback?

noniks · 25/02/2011 19:50

only if she agrees to it apparently - crazy......

I hate people who neg for no proper reason or without contacting.
I got a neg because i made an error with address (ie put 18 instead of 81!) sent by courier so it still got to them.

You can reply to their feedback or see if they will return for refund and ask them to retract feedback.

noniks · 25/02/2011 19:56

Done both these things - the thing that upsets me is that she is telling lies! Why do people do this?

I have similar noniks Angry

Items received (2 seperate buyers) and both arguing item not as desribed.

I am honest hand on heart YET they don't think so. One even sent pictures im annoyed that the pictures don't show problems they are stating and others do show some probs but IMO they have been done by the buyer.. just to push me into offering a partial refund.

I have been pushed into offering the refund YET I will now be left negative feedback.

I can't win..! Wan*er$

Chandon · 26/02/2011 18:16

buy of people who have had a few negative feedbacks, as I know there are people that are never pleased.

So as a buyer, I woudl not even expect 100%

hope that helpd

regeneration · 26/02/2011 18:26

Complain directly to the ebay help centre. they are quite helpful really. email them through the link at the bottom of your ebay homepage and they'll usually reply within a few days...

OR leave them feedback (I know you have to click positive but...) write in the comments box

"NEGATIVE!! DO NOT SELL TO THIS EBAYER!!"

"SELLERS BEWARE!! THIEF AND LIER"

or something along those lines Angry

Shhhh · 26/02/2011 18:29

forgot to say: I do the same as what regeneration says.. lists as positive and goes towards their overall score I know BUT at least in capitols it stands out to other buyers..

PaisleyLeaf · 26/02/2011 20:01

It sounds like she wants to keep the items but warn other potential buyers that there may be animal hairs on the clothes.
Are you sure she's lying? Sometimes you only have to visit someone with pets to get hairs into your clothes.

sixlostmonkeys · 26/02/2011 21:49

if you leave a pos FB with negative comments it will be removed

privategodfrey · 28/02/2011 00:13

I think she has done this accidentally - if you tab along in the 'leave feedback' section it changes the Positive to a Neutral or Negative. I have done this in error before when I was meaning to tab along to the comment section.

Contact the buyer and ask her if she meant to leave a negative - I'm pretty sure she will say she didn't.

If this is the case you can get it mutually removed by eBay and the buyer can then change it to a positive.

It has happened a lot since they changed the feedback system a while ago.

Leaving a positive with a negative comment will be removed by eBay and you will get some kind of sanction from them.

noniks · 28/02/2011 10:15

contacted buyer re removing neg feedback and she hasn't bothered to reply. Which says it all really

I know she's lying. Totally absolutely 100% sure,

Am going to wait till she lists something and buy it then neg her all over the place !!!!

revenge is a dish best served cold.Grin

If I see a negative on the feedback I look at that to see how that person responded - if a response like Regeneration suggested is there I won't buy off them. If the response is more factual and polite then I will shug and think 'awkward buyer' and buy the item. Smile

sixlostmonkeys · 28/02/2011 11:29

be careful about buying in order to leave a neg. If reported you will be in trouble (ebay trouble that is not RL trouble) and the neg will be removed.
just add her to your BBL.

privategodfrey · 28/02/2011 15:17

noniks

If you do that and she reports you then your account could be closed by eBay and you'll be banned from selling. Not worth the risk so get someone else you know to do it on your behalf really.

You can do a calm, factual follow up to her feedback saying something along the lines of "buyer did not contact me to resolve issue, her comments are innacurate" Don't actually use the word liar/lie as this may be grounds to remove the comment.

Might be worth checking her "feedback left for others". If she is in the habit of leaving lots of negs then you might have some luck persuading eBay she has left this maliciously - but don't hold your breath.

Good luck, hope this is resolved amicably :)

privategodfrey · 28/02/2011 15:19

You will, of course, want to spell inaccurate ... erm .. accurately, unlike me.

suzikettles · 28/02/2011 15:27

I agree with Bluecat & Chandon. I do check to see if sellers have any negs, but if they've responded reasonably (eg "buyer reports hair & perfume but clothes were perfect when they were checked before dispatch. Refund offered and buyer refused") then it wouldn't affect me bidding on their items.

If the response is a rant in capital letters then I'd be a bit wary of them tbh.
