Sellers - When do you leave feedback for your buyers

Do you wait until well after receipt of item and no dispute, or do you leave f'back after payment.

Also, do you ever chase/remind/request a buyer leaves feedback for you or is this cheeky.
thanks,

I know some buyers don't like it unlesss you leave feedback right after they've paid, but the Ebay guidelines are that the buyer leaves feedback to show they have received the item in good order, then the seller leaves feed back. You aren't required to put feedback before the buyer.

I don't chase for feedback.

Some sellers leave feedback straight after my payment which is nice. It gives me confidence that the item is going to arrive soon and in the condition stated. However, I wouldn't expect this.
I wouldn't like to be reminded about feedback but then I leave feedback as soon as I am satisfied with the item.

sellers should leave feedback at the end of the transaction ie when they know the buyer has received the item and is happy.
Not a good idea to chase feedback. It is quite annoying and feedback is optional

TalkinPeace2 · 24/02/2011 20:01

never until buyer gives it
then right away

GregorSamsa · 24/02/2011 21:54

I send the buyer an email once I have sent the item, and I include a line saying, "if you are happy with your item, please take the time to leave feedback and I will do the same for you." I reckon about three-quarters of buyers leave feedback for me, which I think isn't bad at all.

Agree about not chasing it -- I've been chased for feedback when I've been the buyer, and it's really annoying.

I leave feedback upon receipt of payment.

themummymonster · 25/02/2011 00:13

As a seller I wait until I get feedback from buyer as then I know that item has arrived safely and that they are happy with it.

As a buyer I give feedback when item has arrived and I am happy with it.

themummymonster · 25/02/2011 00:16

and I don't bother bugging people for feedback as annoying as it might be. (and don't get me on the topic of watchers - !)

eden263 · 25/02/2011 00:20

I leave fb after they've paid because IMO at that point they've fulfilled their part of the deal.

No, I never pester people for fb as it really annoys me when people do it to me, especially when they pester me and I've already left it some days earlier!!

sixlostmonkeys · 25/02/2011 09:59

The problem with doing that eden263 is well, there can be many problems....!
Paying for the item is only the start of the transaction, not the end. The buyer could, damage the item and demand a refund, could falsely claim non-receipt, could become abusive, could return a different item for a refund... etc.
Feedback should really reflect the whole experience of the transaction. Leaving it just because they paid is nothing more that a public receipt.
