Buyer used friend's PayPal account to pay me. Should I trust this?

My buyer (who has 8 feedbacks) had a problem with paying via PayPal because "as a new user of paypal they have put a limit on my account so I am just waitin for that to clear".
This was OK with me and I agreed to wait.

Then yesterday he said he was using his friend's PayPal account to pay for goods. The address on the PayPal confirmation has been changed to his address. I forwarded the confirmation to the PayPal account holder last night, just asking them to confirm they had agreed to the payment and I then told the buyer I had done this and would send out the goods as soon as the account holder confirms.

The buyer has asked what I mean by this and insisted that I send the goods out today as they are 'needed for a party'.

Have I been over the top asking for confirmation? Will I be covered by PayPal if the buyer has used this PayPal account fraudulently?

Providing you send to the address on the PayPal transaction receipt you are okay, however if you are not sending signed for it does not matter where you send it.

Your buyer with 8 feedback fibs, you do not have to verify your account until you have received a sending/receiving limit of 1900, I doubt they have reached that.

Paypal only covers you if you are sending signed for. In the case of a dispute you have to prove receipt to the address on the PayPal transaction page, that means being able to show a status of delivered on the Royal Mail website.

Thank you, FabbyChic. I used the PayPal address and sent it 2nd class recorded. I'll just make sure I keep the receipt and tracking number...
