I listed my first ever item last week and it sold this evening. Yay!

I'm not sure what to do now. Do i choose the 'send an invoice' button. How do i get the buyers address?

I know i have to wait for payment before actually sending.

congrats!!

click send invoice, check invoice then send.
Wait until they pay, the address will be on the details in paypal.

once posted send a message to tell them it's on its way

Thanks (again) sixlostmonkeys.

I have another question. The invoice form is asking me to give clear instructions in the Payment instructions and personal message. What sort of info do you put in here?

Sorry if it sounds daft. I would just like to get it right.

payment is by paypal.

you don't need to put anything. I used to just put "thank you" in it :)
so long as the invoice has the amount and the postage and is totalled then it's ok to click send.
oh, just have a look at the address on the invoice - domestic address to match domestic postage or overseas address to overseas postage etc

I wait an hour or so to see if they pay anyway (some do) and then I send an invoice. In the payment instructions box I put something like, "Congratulations on your winning bid! Please make payment as soon as possible, I will despatch your item as soon as I can after receiving cleared payment. Many thanks."

Great.Thanks again!

Just one last check, will my buyer know to pay via PayPal from the invoice. (I did stipulate in the listing)
Or do i need to put it in the payment intructions?

Your buyer will know to pay via PayPal most people pay immediately if not at least within 24 hours.

when you have been paid by PayPal you will receive an email from PayPal telling you you have recieved an instant payment, if you have less than 100 feedback you may find that the payment is held in PayPal in a pending balance, this will be released once you have received positive feedback or 21 days have passed.

Send the item only to the address on the PayPal email that you receive.

Once sent send your buyer a mail advising the item is on it's way and to contact you should they have any problems upon receipt.

Remember that whatever email address you used to receive payment when you listed your item is the email address that will receive the payment notification from PayPal.
