What are the rules on people asking for a buy it now price?

A buyer has approached me saying they are local, how much for a quick sale? On another auction I was asked for a buy it now price (I gave them a high figure and they didn't get back to me!).

You can only specify a buy it now price if there have not been any bids yet.

I often get asked for a BIN price. I ask what price they were thinking of and, if there are no bids yet and I agree with the amount they are offering, I'll add a BIN to the listing.
