I am trying to list my first item for sale on ebay and getting to a page that wants me to verify my identity. It gives me the option to link my paypal account (which i have just opened) with ebay. When i do that it sends me on this loop of signing in, linking my paypal account etc.

Anyone able to help?

When I opened my paypal account many years ago I had to wait for paypal to put a minimal amount (7p) into my account before being able to verify the account (by telling them 7p had hit my account iyswim)

It took between 4 & 7 days before I could start to sell.

So do i just wait for Paypal to do this, or do i have to do something?

You need to login to your paypal account and go through the steps to verify your account and then they'll make the bank transfers as thesleepfairy says - it is rather a slow process initially I'm afraid!

I've just gone through the steps with paypal.Have to wait a couple of days.
Thanks sleepfairy and lindsell.I'll be back when i get going i'm sure.
Thanks

YOu did not have to verify your PayPal account with the bank deposits, that just gives you a verified PayPal account.

YOu need a verified PayPal account to list items on a BIN if you have less than 15 feedback.

For auction style listings you do not need a verified PayPal account.

Oh.

So how come it keeps telling me to verify it?

I'm in Ireland, would that have anything to do with it? It did say something about being in a different country to the one i am selling in.
