Seller not responding

Bought an item on ebay on Wednesday to collect in person. Really needed it by this weekend - they're only round the corner.

I contacted them via the link on the email on Wed and Friday (which took me back to ebay, I don't seem to have their email address) and have not heard back.

I will need to buy an alternative tomorrow - am I within my rights to say I no longer want to buy the item?

If so, how do I go about it?

If the item is cheap enough pay for it via PayPal, if you do not they could then eventually initiate a non payment dispute give you a strike and get their fees back.

By paying you are forcing them to do something.

They may have decided it did not sell at a price they wanted.

YOu can pull their contact details and get their number.

Thanks Fabby, I have requested their details - there is no email address, just a phone number and no one's answering.

It was £20. Am loathe to part with that. Not sure what to do.

you will get it back if you do not get the item as you can file a non receipt dispute via PayPal or ebay and get a refund might take 20 days but you will get it back.

Thank you - but what if they get back to me next week, or in 2 weeks time? I'll still have to accept the item even thought that's too late for me? What's a "reasonable time" for me to expect to hear from them?

I would have expected to hear from them the day the auction ended as it was a collect in person item, I was expecting to go and pick it up on Wednesday night!

Well you could pay via PayPal then open a dispute, for item not received and just await a refund, if it is big they are highly unlikely to send it!.

YOu could just wait until Monday they might be busy.
