ive seen a beautiful baby changing unit that i would really like to bid on on ebay but its 200 miles away and collection only. i was thinking of asking if they would allow a courier to pick up i have no idea who to use or what to do if they say yes. i live in west yorkshire and the table is in middlesex.

maybe we could do a mumsnet pass the baby unit? It has been done before...

I've used this service before. They need the size/weight to quote so I guess you would need to contact the seller before you can work out if it will be worthwhile.

Ask your seller if they will allow collection by a courier, I wouldnt as they have no proof of delivery if you pay via PayPal which negates their seller protection.

Secondly they will have to pack the item, how do you propose to pay for the packing and how much? it would not be easy.

COurier of a changing unit could be up to £100.

Might be quicker and easier to drive to collect it.

taytotayto to do what Jax suggested I think you'd have to find a trail of MNers who live between/travel between A&B and they would pass the item along until it reached you. I have seen it on here before but not sure how easy it is to sort out??? Was not involved in the one I saw before - outside my area. Could be difficult if the item is big, thinking how many people might have a vehicle big enough to fit it in. Then of course if you are going to need to put a bid in for the item by the time you have sorted the trail of MNers out you could have missed the boat. If you were wanting to do this I think you would need to start a thread asking in the tittle if people are travelling anywhere along the route. But if you bid on the item in the mean time I think you need a back-up plan in case that didn't work out.

try interparcel, they will give you quotes from a lot of courier and then you can choose the cheapest.
