Ebay novice here. Thinking of getting organised, clearing out some stuff.
Top tips?
what sells?
what doesn't?

I know this has probably been done before, but a quick search did not give me any threads similar to this, hence this post.

Help, please!

Do an advanced search on Ebay for things you're thinking of selling - tick the 'completed listings' box and you'll see what sold and what didn't and what price, etc.

At the moment TBH, not much sells on ebay.
All the sellers are complaining that it is really, really quiet.
BUT if you can find a niche, go for it.

I've just sold a load of baby and toddler clothes and for the first time it all went. IMO clothes only sell if they're quality brands, but specific things like breast pumps, slings, etc tend to do better because people actively seek them out.

Baby clothes don't, at least not for enough to make it worth doing - take them to a charity shop instead :)

Nursing bras! sell like hot cakes

Yes, all my maternity clothes and nursing bra's sold really well.

Other than that it's a bit hit and miss and I just sell when I have small / light, good quality items I want to shift.

I've cut back since they put a limit on how much postage you can charge for certain items, lots of books are heavy but e-bay won't let you charge the full postage price so I don't bother with them now.

Anything to do with pregnancy/birth sells well. Clothes only if they are well-known brands and in great condition. Electronic stuff and old mobile phones, especially with any documentation. Pens. Broken electronics. Ikea furniture does bizarrely well.

Stuff that doesn't sell - not allowed to sell used washable nappies. Kids board games, non-rare books, young childrens clothes that aren't posh brands in excellent condition. DVDs of popular films that have been watched. Videos. 1930s-1980s non-designer furniture. Anything a bit heavy that isn't a famous good-quality name.
