How do I refund a buyer?

I sold a suit on behalf of a friend and it turns out the top & bottom are different sizes. I didn't even think to check this! Obviously I need to refund the buyer. Can I just do this independently through Paypal or is there some procedure I need to go through on eBay? Also, Paypal are curently holding all my payments for a perid of time (I think til buyers feedback) so I technically don't have her money anyway.

Can anyone please help?

if the buyer is unhappy with their purchase and wish to have a refund they need to send return the item (at their own expense) and then you issue a refund through paypal.

No return, no refund.

You must ask them to return first, you pay return postage via send money and pay to their email address they paid you from the first time.

Then you await for it to be returned. When you refund do so via clicking the original PayPal transaction in your PP account, scrolling down and hitting the refund button.

If you do it another way they could file a dispute and effectively get two refunds.
