how long after sale do you get to open a dispute?

just wondered what the time scale is after purchase.
I have sent something back but not heard anything? bought on the 15th oct.

It is 45 days with PayPal however that only works if you sent trackable and can prove either attempted delivery or delivery. If you cannot prove either then your best bet is to claim from Royal Mail using your proof of postage.

Thank you I got my refund today from the seller and we mutually agreed to cancel the sale.
So no need for a dispute :)
