Feedback - okay to blank it?

I bought something recently, and thought the seller's communication was poor and when the item arrived, it was poorly packaged - s/he was lucky it arrived undamaged. That said the item was exactly as described and arrived in good time. So I wouldn't buy again from this seller myself, but wouldn't dissuade others.

I really don't want to leave any feedback at all. Does this have any impact on the seller's ratings? I'm new-ish to eBay and don't know how this stuff looks from the seller's perspective. (Seller has already left positive feedback for me.)

Feedback is voluntary you do not have to leave it at all. You could leave feedback like "As described thank you" Then knock the dsr's i.e dispatch time, and postage and packaging down to 1 if you wanted to.

Entirely up to you.

Not leaving feedback has no impact on a seller.

Leaving low stars does.

Thank you. Will just leave it then. As I got what I bought in good time & undamaged, see no reason to complain. But I wouldn't risk it again...

Some transactions are best left without feedback

my fave was one wher the seller got very picky about getting their feedback after an utterly mediocre transaction so I wrote

"Here is the feedback you requested"
(not on this ebay ID of course!)
