have sold a bundle of baby clothes and after 10 days of no contact (payment or replies to emails) from ebayer I opened a dipute.
Almost a week later thgey have asked for my address with an excuse for not paying yet but have asked for bundle to be posted to a different house number (& postcode) but same road as the one stated on ebay account.
Im a bit weary about it& not sure of policy on this etc. would I be covered if it didnt turn up etc.

What do you think or WWYD?

AFAIK you must send it to the address on the account. If they went on to claim it wasn't received you would be stuffed.

If you are sending signed for then it has to go to the address on the Paypal transaction page, if you are not sending signed for then you can send it anywhere you like.

Remember that sending things without proof of delivery to the registered PayPal address for the buyer results in the buyer winning a non receipt claim.

I dont think they are paying pay pal as they asked for my address (I havent replied to them yet) so either cheque or postal order.

One of the reasons you can cancel a transaction is if they ask for it to be sent somewhere else. Ebay frown on it in a big way, and although I have done it in the past for prompt paying customers, I wouldn't risk it for anyone like this.

I have this problem with an overseas buyer. Their paypal address is Belgium but they want items sent to Latvia. They paid for international signed for.

imawigglyworm · 01/11/2010 21:29

Gruesome that is very odd I definately wouldnt do that!!

At present the dispute is still open, do you think I should email saying I will only post to ebay address or I will cancel the transaction as im not happy?
They have 100% feedback on 60-70 transactions but only 1 item for the last 12 months. Which just looking is an item they won & paid for days after bidding on mine so their excuse they gave me for no payment yet has gone out of the window GRRRR!!

The Belgium buyer can add the Latvian address to their eBay account as a delivery address and select it upon checkout so it shows on your PP transaction email, so you will be okay to send there.

If they are paying via a method other than PayPal surely it matters not where it is sent? It can go anywhere they cannot open a dispute against you as eBay only deal in dispues where the buyer has paid via PayPal.

If you accept alternative payment methods I fail to see what the problem is.
