Help! What should I do? Non-payment, account closed

I listed an item recently and it sold for 50p more than the starting bid.
I waited for payment for a few days then received a message from the winning bidder - through another item I had for sale not the item they had won.
It said 'sorry for not paying as you may be aware my account has been closed as it was actually my partners and we split and he's told ebay this. I've opened a new account so can you list it as BIN and I'll pay straight away' well I thought the email sounded a bit dodgy so didn't respond and offered it to the previous bidder but had no response!
So I re-listed it ,as an identical item had just sold for a few pounds more than mine and not totally convinced on the email I received.
Now the winning bidder from the original listing has emailed me again asking me to do BIN again.
But I have a bid on the item.
What should I do??????
I've only been selling for a few weeks so unsure of etiquette
TIA

I don't think you can do BIN once someone has bid on it. Would just leave it to auction if I were you, sounds a bit weird to me.

thanks!
can they give me bad feedback?

No, not at all. They couldn't go through with the sale and there is no obligation on your part to resell it to them.

They can do a neg unless you have filed and won an unpaid dispute
do that and get your seller fees back...

Have you cancelled the first sale? Sorry thought you had. You can do this really easily from the help topic. If the buyers account doesn't exist any more she can't file any feedback at all.
