buyer not happy - item returned?

I sold an item on ebay.

The buyer got back to me this morning saying she had recieved it and wasn't happy because of x and also y.

I told her that 'x' was clearly explained on the listing, i was very clear about it and she knew that before it came.

'y' was something i had genuinly forgotten about. In order to be able to clean this item I made a small slit to be able to get it free, you can't see it when in use, it does affect it and without it you couldn't wash it!

But fai enough, i forgot to mention it so I've told her to return it for a full refund and I've apologised alot.

The item is lovely, comes with loads of extras and I sold it really cheap!

But I understand she may not be happy because of the 'slit' (you cant see it when in use) so ive offered a full refund.

She is refusing to send it back because she really likes it but says she is going to go through paypal to get some money back?!?!

I really don't want this to happen because I sold it cheap and could get at least £50 more!

and so would rather have it back and relist it (including the slit) but she is refusing.

What can I do?

She says she want a 'partial refund' to get it repaired, but its only a slit in tough fabric, you only need to stitch it up.

Am totally Confused and :(

From your explanation you are annoyed at yourself that you either didn't mention it on the listing or sew it up yourself.

She is being a bit awkard though. Perhaps she can't sew, or perhaps she is the type that "knows her rights"

Would it be better if you arranged the partial refund rather than going through paypal or is she being awkward in addition to having a fair point?

No shes being awkward, I understand I should have mentioned it, but its a very minor thing on a very, very lovely set and by the sounds of things she wants a BIG chunk of money back and I already sold it cheap because I was desperate Blush

tell her again that you will issue a refund once she sends it back. if she opens a dispute just state the same again. It's unlikely she will get her way in this - paypal will just tell her to return it for a refund
