sold a boys shirt on ebay, bidder from oz! how much do i chare to post?!

sold a baby boys dress shirt (very light weight) but the winning bidder is from oz. didn't even think they could bid on the uk site.. anyhoo, tis sold now, and i'm thankful for that- but am a tad confused on postage...i have looked on royal mails site here and it seems as if its about £7 unsigned for, and about £16 signed for!!?!! what???! so an extra £9 just for a signature? i know i should go for the more pricier postage just incase the buyer says she didn't receive an item and does a chargeback etc- but i was thinking- should i ask the buyer to pay paypal gift and only then will i send the shirt via the cheaper method? shirt sold for £17 itself. should i give them a choice? cos by the looks of it, she'll be paying the same amount for the shirt as she does postage(!)

You charge what it costs. Is there a second bidder you can offer a second chance to if you give the winner the chance to back out over the postage costs?

no :( started bidding at 17 pounds- and only one bidder!...and its the third time i listed it!-thats why i reeeeally want to sell it- hence the dilemma. she has abt 200 postive feedback and seems to buy loads from the uk. its a designer shirt..

weigh it again - are you sure it weighs over 500g?

If she buys regularly from the UK, she should be aware of the postage costs.

with a £17 starting price, I'm not surprised its not sold before though.

Contact the buyer to offer the choice of tracked vs standard delivery, and get a proof of postage if the latter.
