W have started a dispute resolution thing. It's now a week and I notice eBay now say i can close the case...but what has actually happened to the irritating arse who bid and didn't pay up. I can't leave negative feedback on their profile it seems.

I did see that the non-payer had one Positive feedback - but he comment w ere "this person did not pay despite several emails" Perhaps this is the only way to do it?

How have you dealt with this?

A seller cannot leave a buyer negative feedback. Ebay changed the rules on this a while ago.

I wouldn't recommend leaving a positive with a negative comment as the buyer will then complain and Ebay will remove the comment as they don't match up so they will end up with a positive and no comment and you will be penalised for malicious feedback.

Best to leave it really. A buyers feedback means nothing really, as they cannot receive negatives.

If you have opened a case ebay will give them a strike in their account.

You can block them now from bidding on your items in the future, and you can set up requirements on your account so people with a certain amount of feedback cant bid (you can set the parameters)

Go to 'your account' and select 'site preferences' you can click the edit button on the right hand side to set up your preferences where it says 'buyer requirements'.

the best ones to choose are block buyers who don't have a paypal account, have received unpaid item strikes, have policy violation reports and have a low feedback score.

Hope that helps Finbar :o

Many thanks - your advice has gone a long way to alleviating my slow burning anger at these non communicating non-payers!

HI
I have gone onto the Buyer requirements part and set all the preferences you suggested. Thanks
One final question- how and where do I block this particular eBayer?

this should be right

You need to know the username of the buyer(s) you want to block.

Thanks for those tips, have also applied them to my account after having had people bid then not pay - very annoying, especially when they jump in at the last minute over people who placed bids days ago!
