Hi, haven't had this problem before and I need help please!!

Yesterday I sold a large and bulky item and clearly stated it was for local pick-up only and not to bid unless they intended to collect in person. Got 2 bids, but the winning person asked me to cancel their bid almost immediately as they said they had made a mistake.

Can sellers cancel a buyer's bid because the buyer asks them to? I read the help pages and suggested the buyer completes a Bid Retraction Form, as I think the only thing I can do as a seller is open an item unpaid case, but have to wait until 4 days have lapsed.

Am I getting this all wrong???!!! I've not sold many items before so definitely in at the deeper end here - any advice much appreciated.

Thank you

You will have to cancel the auction. If the buyer agrees you will get your fees back, then you can either relist or offer to 2nd highest bidder.
If they don't reply you will have to wait for 7 days to get your fees back.

You can mutually agree to cancel transaction.
Then you can either re-list or do a 2nd chance offer to the other bidder.

Ok, thanks so much for your help. Have now cancelled it from my side and am awaiting buyer's response. Don't like it when problems arise!!!
