selling a car on ebay

I've sold lots of things on ebay but all low value stuff.
Can anyone share any tips for selling a car please?
I've found this guide here
which looks quite good.
I noticed a few listings state cash on collection, is that pretty much standard?
We hope to get £1500-£1900. How would you like to be paid? What are the risks with a bank transfer?
And if you ask for a deposit then do you do that via paypal? (this is mentioned in the guide I linked to)
TIA

I haven't sold a car on ebay, but I have bought two. I've had a quick glance at the selling guide and would just add, lots and lots and lots of photos, the more, the better; and if you mention dents or scratches photo them.

Most sellers seem to say £100 deposit by paypal and the balance in cash on collection.

thanks oldlady that is helpful.
You can set a reserve for a charge of £7.99 so we can't decide whether to go for an auction with a reserve, a buy it now listing or to try a classified. Decisions decisions!

I'v sold two cars on Ebay, one was mine one was my mams husbands.

Ours was sold on a BIN or best offer, my mams husbands was done on auction as it was a banger.

With the banger we took paypal but lost out on fees, with our we took a bank transfer. The buyer can't do anything with your bank details other than send money to it.

Take lots of photos inclding on of the bonnet open, list all the faults no matter how minor and make sure you clean it before photos are taken.
