How many sales do you have? How badly does this effect your percentage score?

candyfluff · 14/07/2010 11:13

i have 398 sales and so im now 99.8% positive feedback
im really upset

There's not much you can do apart from respond to the feedback and say that you weren't given a chance to rectify it.

candyfluff · 14/07/2010 11:18

how do i do that?

I always forget and end up having to search the help topics. I'll see if I can find it now...

So to get back to 100% you only need to make a few positive sales.

From a buyer perspective so long as some one is above 97% I accept that there are some loons out there who leave bad feedback because they're having a bad day.

BuzzingNoise · 14/07/2010 13:37

Your percentage is based over the previous 12 months, so the negative will have an effect for that amount of time.

SteveO · 15/07/2010 00:52

Because the feedback score is worked to 1 decimal place and over 12 months, you need 2000 positives to wipe out one negative.

As above, use the respond to feedback option to reply - but keep it factual and polite - future buyers will have more respect for your response than the original negative from the buyer.

One neg is not the end of the world when you have nearly 400 feedback - rude buyers are an occupational hazard of selling on ebay, and the chances are you will encounter one sooner or later, especially selling "subjective" items like used clothes and shoes. My idea of excellent condition may be your idea of only good or above average condition for example.
