Hi,

we are finally getting somewhere I think with some referrals and saw the adult ED team today.

DD18 has always been a ‘fussy eater’ and until this point in her life no help has been available. She has a BMI of 15 and continuously loses weight with occasional gains but very small.

recent diagnosis of ASD which took ages to get too, and now on waiting list for ADHD as ASD team suggested she explores this too.

I am really angry we’ve been left for so many years struggling when I have repeatedly asked for help. Things should never have got this bad.

just looking for some moral support.

It shouldn’t have taken so long but well done for getting the recognition and hopefully some help and support.
Only parents and those affected truly understand the severity and impact.

Look at this book (dedicated to our daughter)
Anything by Dr Liz Shea and Dr Gillian Harris is helpful. They have worked extensively with children / young people and families. Both very experienced knowledgeable and understanding.

So frustrating isn’t it @Sworkmum? Our DD finally got her diagnosis at 17. I’d starting asking for help when she was 2. She’s just started ADHD medication at almost 18 although I can’t see a huge difference but they do start them off on a low dose.

Is your DD on any medication following her ASD diagnosis? Mine finds Sertraline and Melatonin helpful Flowers
