Hi, I'm new here and after some advice. My DD 14 has her first appointment on Thursday with the camhs ED team for an assessment.
She has been cutting out all snacks and lunches without us realising for months. She is already underweight without cutting anything out and is a slim build. Always hovered above the 1st centile without the ED. She is now 40kg and 5ft 5.
The GP sent an urgent referral.
She is a typical teen with rebellious behaviour towards her parents but adores her horse and going to the yard where we keep him for hours at a time but since we have became aware of his we have been advised to stop all exercise so no walking to school, no PE, no visits to the yard etc.
This week she has started a meal plan issued to us and is reluctantly eating most of it.
Can anyone tell me what I could expect as an outcome of the assessment?
Could she be pulled out of school all together?
I am extremely concerned for what this would do to her mental health as it would isolate her from everything she takes any joy in.
On another note we are due to travel abroad on holiday for half term on Monday.
I know the priority is her health and we support that fully but what is the likely hood that she would be able to come with us or we have to cancel all together?
We have considered just going as myself and my husband and leaving her in the care of her Gran as she loves to have her control over us and us cancelling our trip would give her the ultimate control but I don't want to abandon her for a week at a time when she needs us although she gets on amazing with her gran and would not rebel against her.
Please let me know your thoughts and be kind as we are really struggling to come to terms with this.
