My DD, 8, has all of a sudden started to take a long time to eat her meals. She will chew each mouthful for a least a minute before swallowing. Her evening meal has started to take more than 45 minutes. Just a few weeks ago she would have been done within 20 minutes. She enjoys the food but has just started taking a long time to eat it. I’m not sure what to do about it, as I feel if she eats this way at school there is no way she will be eating enough. And at home it’s impacting on family life as she is taking so long to complete a meal. Do you have any advice?

Has she said why she's taking longer?

You have to talk to her. She may have just learned about digestion in school, the importance of chewing your food. Or heard something in the playground.

Personally I'd do nothing and see if it passes. Is she losing weight or showing other signs of Ed?
