Hello,
First off, be kind to yourself. Eating disorders are absolute hell to live with.
The binge/purge cycle is a very hard cycle to break. Basically your body is being starved and then survival instinct kicks in and you want to eat everything in sight. And then you feel absolutely rotten afterwards resulting in purging.
The first thing to try is regulate your meals. Even if it's something small. Your body needs to trust their will always be food available. If you can manage to eat something (preferably high in protein to keep your hunger satisfied) every 3 hours, it really will help to reduce the urge to binge.
Purging is so incredibly dangerous to your body, and without wishing to scare you, can send you into heart failure and even kill you. It sends your electrolytes and potassium out of whack, you risk rupturing your oesophagus, perforating your stomach. It's just not worth it.
It's good your on the wait list for professional help.
I have had anorexia for 20 years and have both restricted and gone through b/p cycles. I've had courses of treatment & therapy, but I left it too late for anything to be effective as habits are too deeply ingrained. The sooner you can get a hold over this, the better your life will be in the long run. Trust me, you do not want to spend the next few years of your life a prisoner to an eating disorder. It's a half life and limits you so much.
I really wish you well and hope you can work your way through this.
