My brother has an eating disorder. He told me yesterday, in tears, that he regularly throws up after meals.

Having always been an over-weight child and after suffering jibes from my father and subsequently myself when I was young, he's always been ashamed of his weight. As a child, he would binge and hide food.

At 21 and at 21 stone, he made drastic changes and lost 10 stone. Now, he is under 11 stone, 6"4 and ridiculously skinny.
I've seen him binging on take aways and snacks like he did as a child and Ive wondered how he's staying so horrifically thin. Then he told me, in floods of tears, he's been throwing up for 2 years.

He's made a doctors appointment but he wants to go alone. I'm so scared for him. What can I do ?

You can be there for him, you sound like a lovely sister and he trusts you, never underestimate the importance of being there. And providing a non-judgemental listening ear

That is so fantastic he told you, bulimic men can feel so isolated.
Listening is the big thing.
You could read about John Prescott's experience, too. But mostly just listen.
