Bulimia?

I've known for a while that my eating habits aren't particularly healthy- I eat crap when I'm feeling down (most days) and then feel like I've eaten too much so I take 2 or 3 laxative pills to get rid if it.
My husband keeps mentioning bulimia but I thought that was just making yourself sick after eating. But then I've googled it and apparently taking laxatives can be a sign of bulimia. I'm not really sure what to do. Do I really need to see my gp?
I don't see much of a problem with what I'm doing, I'm not skinny and it doesn't seem to be having an effect on my health...

Yes, laxative abuse as a way of purging after binging is an aspect of bulimia and long term use of laxatives can damage your health in ways you are not necessarily aware of. Just because you are not "thin", does not mean you are not doing yourself harm. A visit to your GP would be a good start.

yes, bulimia has several types and laxative abuse is one type.

A lot of bulimics aren't stick thin, whichever way they choose to purge.

Perhaps serious GP?
