Day2 Embryo transfer done. 39 years. Donor egg. Guide please

Hello lovely ladies,

39 year old- Turning 40 in April.
1 failed ivf cycle as empty follicle.
Selected donor. 6 eggs but only 5 thawed and only one fertilised to 4 cell by day2. One another was still at 1 cell even on day 3 :( They said they will wait till Monday ( 11th Feb) to see if it grows.

Clinic suggested day2 transfer and was done on Friday 7th Feb. I unfortunately had cold and caught bit of flu ( no fever ) and still recovering. Not taking anything for it other than paracetamol.

I am on 400mg cyclogest pessary twice daily. Estello solo 2 mg - 5 tables daily.
Baby Asprin - 1 daily.
Lubion 25mg - 1 daily.

They asked to do test on 20th and 23rd Feb.

I am looking for any success stories for day2 embryo transfer. Any signs symptoms I should be looking for soon ? I don't know why the donor eggs didn't fertilised even when it was from a younger donor.

I don't feel anything at all as of today and still recovering from cold and cough.

Only change I felt- post Embryo Transfer, I slept in the car and then Saturday I slept throughout day and very good at night.

@Annie1306 I had 6 transfers during my IVF years and all I can say is that it is such a hard time emotionally. I think we are used to having information at our finger tips so it is particularly tough that this time, when we are just so anxious to know the result, there is just no way of knowing. But genuinely the only way of knowing is taking that test 11/12dt2dt.

Yes a 2 day transfer can absolutely work but is even harder emotionally as you don't know much about the viability if the embryo. That said, you never really know. I had a negative from a euploid blast during my 5th transfer.

I had every result possible across my transfers and I genuinely thought I could tell when it worked or not but I was 100% wrong. My final transfer I was completely convinced it had failed as no symptoms at all - he's in my arms now.

All you can do is make yourself as comfy as possible while you wait to do that test.

You just need to hang in there OP. It's a terrible stressful thing. Hyper vigilance for any pregnancy symptoms won't really help the outcome. You just need to sit tight, breathe, and wait, and what will be will be. This won't cheer you up OP but I had 9 embryo transfers in total before getting our little boy. I wouldn't recommend everyone goes through that many attempts but just to say that if you don't get success the first few times it doesn't necessarily mean it is impossible

I tested today and got positive. Fingers 🤞
Need to do next test on 23rd. My clinic didn't ask for Beta HCG but I am supposed to let them know the results.

Hello @hopefullsosbry , my 7 week scan went well. I am not waiting for my next scan which is on 22nd April at the hospital through NHS. Fingers crossed. Please feel free to ask me any questions on donor conception if you have. I am more than happy to answer if I can. :)

@Annie1306 thats amazing news .. and congratulations! 🥰.. thanks .. we are still just considering this so probably won’t be looking at donors until a few months, can I ask if you don’t mind, was it also donor sperm you used? Thanks
