Seeking known sperm donors

My partner and I are considering trying to get pregnant using a known sperm donor with at home IUI. This certainly seems to be the cheapest option. How would I go about finding a known sperm donor? Any experience, contacts and advice would be greatly appreciated.

The Known Donor Registry is closing down, but you could try Pride Angel. There are also several Facebook groups, though some of them are quite toxic.

There is an app called Just A Baby, it's a bit like Tinder but for sperm donors. I haven't used it but heard of a few success stories and you have to weed through some creeps.

Plenty of Facebook groups around with more choices but it's unregulated so you're really taking the donor at his word. You could find a gem but be need to be cautious. There are horror stories of donors donating far too much and genetically fathering many many children, which results in many genetic half siblings and the possibility of incest in the future if your child unknowingly gets into a relationship with a genetic relative. However, there will be some good ones out there so just need to do lots and lots of research.

Any chance there are any males you know personally you can ask? I know it's such a weird and sensitive subject but don't write it off straightaway. This is the route we have chosen.

Just be careful especially with the legal ramifications.
