Donor conception

What to do next and when

I know no one can answer this for me but it helps so much to share experiences doesnt it?

i have a Ds from double donation. He is wonderful. We had five other embryos- four failed transfers. I have one left. this is the last genetic sibling as the egg donor doesn’t want to cycle again.

The thing is is I had a very bad accident last year that has left me partially paralysed. I also own a business and after 5 months in hospital and some further months recuperating I have had to go back and need to put a lot of energy into growing it. I’m 45 so no spring chicken. Do I go for it with the last embryo sooner rather than later, if nothing else, to bring this painful chapter to a close? Or is it a madness given the level of pressure and responsibility I have at the moment, to try for a second?

Advice and experiences welcome. Ds has shown no interest in a sibling but at the end of the day, it’s the adults decision to make!

Id go for it, but with low expectations. It’s the last embryo so you can close that chapter if it doesn’t work.
if it does work, you’ll make it work for you

Would a pregnancy and a small baby feel like a good or a bad thing right now?

Go for it, you have nothing to lose. I believe you want this, otherwise knowing your circumstances you wouldnt even think about it. And no matter what others think- you know how strong you are, so do what you feel is best for you.
My genetic child shows no interest in a sibling, but we will be trying a donor egg route. I’m at the end of 43.

Thanks all. I think we will try but I might leave it another few months till I am strong enough to lift and walk with a toddler again.
