Hello

I just wanted to hear from anyone doing "natural" IUI, what you're doing, how you're finding the process, ovulation timing, success stories.

Also anyone out there from the UK going to Denmark?

Did natural IUI ten years ago at Diers clinic in denmark. I liked that the Danish clinics don't push tests etc As you don't take hormones you don't get the increased risk of ovarian cancer.

It was a bit mad though waiting out in Denmark for that positive ovulation test. How are you finding it?

Hello! So good to meet you. I am doing it at Stork clinic in Denmark. I went out in January but no joy. I'm going back out in April.

Yes waiting for your LH surge in Denmark I found very stressful! It just didn't seem to be happening! Stress probably making it worse. I also used Clearblue digital and LH strips and when clearblue peaked the LH strips were negative which was really confusing. I'm monitoring things more closely now. I actually think the LH strips might be more accurate for me.

However I'm hoping that the second time round will be a bit easier since I know what to expect.

That's great hopefully the clinic staff are available on the phone to give you some advice while you are out there and will check with ultrasound? I was just using superdrug tests but that was going back a bit. I don't know if its an option for that location but my attempts were in the summer so I stayed in a camping hut which was about the same price as a hotel- I like the country side so that worked for me and meant I could self cater. Have a ten year old handful on his own social media in the living room thanks to my efforts!

How are you getting on @ElRo28 ? I have had 5 rounds of natural IUI unsuccessfully now (in the UK) :( About to start my 6th. It's definitely a marathon!

@starpatch so happy to hear it worked out for you back then! Can I ask how many rounds it took you to conceive?

Hey @TunicFox , oh wow 6 is a lot! Sending much luck your way. I think I went into this thinking it would work first time but now I'm beginning to wonder if I just should have done IVF. I'm trying again next month hopefully (but I'm currently due to ovulate on a Sunday and the clinic doesn't open anymore). I'm talking to the clinic again on Friday. I feel like I've uncovered loads more information since I first went (like can I have an ultrasound on insemination day - it wasn't offered the first time, what is CMV? etc) feel like it's info they should have offered. So I would say feeling frustrated but also settling into it'll happen when it happens.

Hi, it worked 3rd time for me and I was 39 years old with a lot of fibroids. IVF has a low success rate I don't think its a route to go down if you don't need it. That sounds a bit frustrating about the clinic, you really need one that is open 7 days a week and I had more than one ultrasound some cycles, if my positive ovulation test was late they would do one before.

We are! We did it at stork klinik in 2020 and had our son. Worked second time. We have had 1 unsuccessful at stork last month and will go again soon. Hoping we don’t have to move to ivf
