Donor eggs where to start?

I am currently in my 4th ICSI cycle with today receiving a day 3 update which was not great- there is no much hope for day 5, I don’t think I will have anything to transfer 🥹
I can’t keep going through this process and so am keen to explore donor eggs - it is something I have thought about for a while (I am 39)
can anyone offer insight into how long the waitlist is in clinics in the Uk - eg Manchester fertility is one I am interested in
or is it much quicker to go to Spain?
how does cost compare Uk vs abroad generally?
I will need to spend lots of time researching but would be grateful if anyone can share any info x

Thank you. I'm glad you had success and a good experience. We are so ready to be parents now. Almost 5 years in to this journey.

I am in a similar position - would love to hear how everyone is getting on? xx

@LAURAPAX I ended up going with LWC they have clinics all over Uk. Was a very quick process and I am extremely grateful that first transfer using DE resulted in BFP and I’m now 24 weeks pregnant x

congratulations @Hopewishprayer so happy for you thats wonderful news. Did you have any previous successful transfers with OE? I'm relatively early in the ivf journey but with two natural miscarriages since ttc trying for our 1st and now suspected endo and lower than average AMH/ AFC I am being realistic that DE may be the best option for us. I am also 37 been trying for over a year. Its all so stupidly hard. Wishing you a completely boring and trouble free pregnancy! xx

@LAURAPAX sorry to hear you’ve been through an extremely tough time, I did have one successful transfer on my 2nd round but ended in MMC at 9weeks. After a further 2 rounds after that where we collected eggs we struggled to make blasts, that’s why we decided to move to DE. I wish you the very best of luck for your journey xx

Hello,

Please may I ask whether as part of the donor selection process, you're able to see a picture of the donor? We're not fussed whether the baby resembles either myself or my partner but would like to have an idea of what the baby's other parent might look like.

Thanks!

It will depend where you have treatment, not in the UK unless you use a known donor. Other countries have different rules

Thank you @NotMyDayJob for sharing that information. I'm so glad it worked for you and very happy to read that you now have a DC.

Typically, everything has taken a lot longer than planned due to my having diabetes and other chronic conditions which need managing. After months of waiting for appointments and treatment etc. We are now ready to start preparing for our FET. We bought 7 Eggs and only got 1 embryo to freeze, which is rather disappointing, so we suspect there is some unknown male factor issues now that the female factor has been removed. We are now pinning all our hope on this upcoming FET which will happen just before Christmas.

I'm just trying to sort out the medication side of things and have been asked to choose either Prontagest or Lubion for injectable progesterone and wondered if anyone knows if one is better than the other? I know 1 costs significantly more! But I want to basey decision on which one works best. Hopefully I won't need either but as always you don't know until it happens.

I'm going through fluctuations of hopeful, "Yes this will work this time! We got pregnant naturally before so it'll definitely happen this time." To, "absolutely no hope at all can not even consider this working." Which is all rather exhausting but we are where we are.
