Finding a donor

Hi,

Is anyone else finding it really difficult to start the process because of a lack of donors at the moment?

@Hailey12 There are so many donors abroad. Denmark and the US are experts in this thing as far as I know, I'm sure there are many others.

When doing this donor thing, it's better to involve things abroad. They do things proper abroad.

I’ve looked on xytex and euro sperm bank there’s just not much to choose from!

Is it a major deal about cmv - or + too?

@Hailey12 yes there is not much to choose from I agree, but I guess we have to just choose the donors there at the meantime, unless you can ask the donor bank when they are going to update with new donors, which surprisingly is quick like in few months, they update donors often once the donor reaches 10 families.

Regarding CMV, antenatal clinics just ask about Rhesus and blood group but not CMV, was not asked about CMV as far as I can remember.

@Hailey12 have you looked at London Sperm Bank? They regularly add new donors and if you call them they can give you a heads up on new donors they are going to add.

I have asked them to e mail me profiles. I do find though with uk banks you don’t always get to see a photo which I would like really just to see features of my partner
