Is there a bmi limit for iui? Like there is nhs ivf.

Obviously I plan to get as close to 30 bmi as I can, hopefully less but I was just curious if paying for iui, if you have to below 30 bmi.

Also I’m currently about 70-75kg over getting a bmi of 30. Yeah I know, I’ve got a lot to lose, but I’m determined to have a baby in the next 3-5 years.

Any advice would be great.

Hi, if going private your BMI generally needs to be under 35

I think if you're determined to have a baby in that time frame you need to focus on the weight first.

Regardless of any limit, the closer your BMI is to your ideal the better.

I've just started Noon which is pretty good. It's not cheap but if it means your IVF is more likely to work then it might be worth it

Oh by determined to have a baby, I mean would very much enthusiastically like to, rather than definitely must.

I’ve already lost just under 20kg. I just need buckle down and go for the weight loss.

Thanks for the replies.

Losing 20kg is great, well done!! I am sure you can do this, and it is perfectly possible within your time frame to lose the weight. It is great you've got motivation to keep working towards your goal; having something to aim for really helps! Good luck

I had to be under BMI 35 for iui. I was allowed to start the bloodwork etc before this though so I started treatment literally the week my weight got under

I remember starving myself a day before the fertility doctor was going to weigh me. I was above bmi 30 but got to bmi 29 at least for the weigh in. Please don't copy me, don't starve yourself.

But since baby, I put weight back on. But I'm trying to do this low fat thing now.
